Thank God there are some people out there with some sense! His words needs to be screamed into the ears of every zionist.

Israel has turned Gaza into the largest detention camp in the world. It allows the prisoners just enough food and medicine to keep them alive, but not enough to create a society. That the prisoners would try to lash out against their tormentors is to be expected. Israel then typically responds with massacre.

What we are witnessing is the bloody dead-end of political Zionism, the ideology that created Israel against the will of the great majority of people in Palestine.

It has been estimated that the United States has poured more than a trillion dollars, at the current rate of exchange, into Israel since its creation in 1948, probably enough to pay off the present economic collapse in the United States or easily buy out every foreclosed mortgage and balance every state budget.

The United States has also spent political capital and blood for Israel that is beyond calculation. This support is a major factor in our catastrophic presence in Iraq and Afghanistan.

It is time for the United States to tell Israel, as its closest friend, that enough is enough. The Israel/Palestine problem is not intractable.

The solution is simple: End the illegal and brutal occupation of Palestinian lands, abandon all settlements, return to the border of 1967, create a democratic Palestinian state and normalize relations with the Arab world. This, in fact, is the long-standing Saudi plan that Israel has continuously rejected.

As long as the United States pays its bills, Israel has no incentive or political will to reach a peace settlement. The result in an endless cycle of violence.

It is time to tell Israel for its own sake that enough is enough.
